A snipe flew to peck the meat of a clam, just when the clam opened its shell to bathe in the sun. The clam forcefully closed the shell and pinched the snipe by the mouth.
The snipe said, “If it doesn’t rain today and tomorrow, there will be a dead clam.”
The clam didn’t want to compromise, “If I don’t let you go today and tomorrow, there will be a dead snipe.”
The clam and the snipe both refused to give in. Soon, a fisherman appeared, and caught them both.
