凤城新景随想
（2002年7月2日）
2002年7月2日，偕自治区有关部门及银川市领导考察市郊湿地资源，偶有所感，遂联成句。
贺兰山下，
黄河岸边，
天蓝蓝，
水茫茫。
良田万顷，
绿波翻浪。
长河落日，
驼铃声响。
即位灵州唐新皇，
饮马瀚海元昊王。
金凤高飞，
桑梓巨变，
湖水灵，
新城乡。
回汉人民，
花儿高唱。
再创千年大景象，
旧颜卸去换小康。
Random Thought on City of Phoenix
July 2，2002
At the foot of the Mt.Helan，and beside the Yellow River，
The sky is blue，blue；and the water is wide，wide.
Lying before me is boundless stretch of fertile land，
With waves of green crops seething.
The abundant crops，the robust ox and sheep，
Also teamed with is dancing reeds and fragrant rice；
It is not the South，
But its scenery is far beautiful than that of the South；
Oh，what a beautiful scene，this piece of the North land！
Touches on the river wave is after ray of the glowing sun，
And with tinkling I hear is back-home camels' gong，
This is a well-known area，
For the Tang's Emperor enthroned in Linzhou Town，
And also is the wielding power of Yuanhao Wang，
How time brings great changes to the City of Phoenix，
What beautiful lakes，and what a prosperous town！
What I hear outside is loud singing of Hui and Hans song，
We are sure of creating a new scene in the new millennium，
Now completely gone with the old scene，
And in its place there out arises of a completely new town.

唤得神州百花开。
一扫千年腐旧气，
中华跃身新时代。

The country's Reform has brought us a warm spell of spring，
With which it wakes up flowers blossom everywhere；
The Reform tide sweeps the stingy smell，
That accumulated for thousands of years，
Happily I see is the Sleeping Lion jumping into the new era.

沙湖浪涌百禽戏，黄河旭日枸杞红。
纸上雄兵三百万，胸中深藏家乡情。
自古著者似流水，唯有佳作留清名。

Managing a great cause，but He never puts his pen down，
With stars shining high in the sky，He still keeps his light on；
From the Shahu Lake where thousands of birds are playing，
To the Yellow River torrents glowing at the setting sun，
Till the red colour of wolf berry trees grown，
On paper，he talked about millions of soldiers，
Also about the tactics of war，
And in his mind is his deep love for his home-town；
Like mists and clouds，since old times many authors pass by
But continue to spread are only those great works，
And till ever the author's great names are lasted among.
冬至大雪感怀
（2002年12月27日）
12月27日，赴固原山区踏雪慰问困难群众。归途中，远眺银装素裹的山川田野，来年丰收景象浮现脑海，即兴赋诗一首。
云堆雾重雪漫漫，
露饮旱塬润寒冬。
举目苍穹着素妆，
回首山川蕴娇容。
戏闹孩童稚声远，
心急路客说天公。
冷凝头九节令少，
消灾来年五谷丰。
Snow on the Winter Solstice Day
December 27，2002
With mists and clouds are snowflakes falling from the sky high，
Like rain and water drew，
It nourishes the dried fields and also warming the cold winter；
Raising my head what I see is the vault of Heaven，
With silver-white snow coating all over，
How beautiful are mountains and plains of my hometown！
From village there comes a happy noise of kids'hide-and-seek，
Impatiently then I asked although still hurry on my way，
What on earth is the date today？
Puzzled but I know it is not so cold on the Solstice Day，
The falling of big snow and begins with abundant harvest year.

So vivid it is that under Your Mighty pen，
All animals seem to turn alive；
In retrospect，we were once classmates and also intimate friends，
But today you ascend high on the mountain atop，
Although the mountain itself still magnificently towers！
京城大雪

2003年3月10日，北京大雪纷飞，落地为水，润物无声，为“两会”增添了春的浓意。以诗记之。
京城飞雪白，
落水润无声。
尘封喧嚣静，
催萌春意生。
Snow in Beijing
March 10，2003
When gentle wind comes forth，snow rises on high，
Soundlessness，the smelting water drops on roofs and trees；
In the busy Capital city，
The falling snow silents the city and buries the dust，
And it burgeons sprouts and brings us a new spring scene.

不忘贫寒西部地，
共富同舟南北东。
惊雷听处醒睡狮，

With the magnolia sprouting and the flower in blossom，
Unnoticedly I see is the coming of a warm spring，
With spell of the warm spring wind，All looks fresh and gay；
The three-step-development aims at a well-off society，
And in just ten years，the country's GDP has doubled；
Always keep in mind the poor and backward of the west，
Let's now be in the same boat and drive toward prosperity；
Like a thunderstorm that wakes up the Sleeping Lion，
High flying is the Giant Dragon，
And who sees the country's new and prosperous scene.
The Construction of Grand Yinchuan

With a high and entrepreneurial spirit，the people of Ningxia
Work hard and jointly build up the Grand Yinchuan，
By seizing time and catching up with the moon and the sun，
We plan to portray a rainbow in a new sky；
Highways and skyscrapers now appear north of the Great Wall，
Also are those lakes made and greens done，
Now there appears a south-like beautiful scene；
And emerging is a well-off society in the six hundreds li，
For future's development and prosperity，
Let's catch up the Yellow River and ascend the Mt.Liupan.
