Wang Yuewen is a well-known contemporary author in China. He serves as the chairman of Hunan province's Provincial Writers' Association. His published works include, but are not limited to, the novels: Prime Minister of the Qing Dynasty, Canghuang; Betwixt Dawn and Dusk, Departed Soul Bird, and The First Year of the Calendar of Love, in addition to short story collections: Water Village and A Winter without Snow, and prose collections: The Cost of Humour. He has been honored as a recipient of the following awards: the Lu Xun Prize for Literature, the Hunan Province Prize for Innovation in Literature, and the Hunan Province Prize for the Literary Arts. Some of his works have been translated into foreign languages including English and Japanese.
