《猫》是英国作曲家安德鲁·洛伊德·韦伯（Andrew Lloyd Webber）根据Ｔ·Ｓ·艾略特（T. S. Eliot）的诗集 《老负鼠讲讲世上的猫》谱曲的音乐歌舞剧。《猫》中的角色：“领袖猫”，猫族中的首领，充满智慧和经验，他必须出席一年一度的猫会，并最后决定哪一只猫能够升天获得重生；“迷人猫”，剧中成熟女性的代表，全剧舞会高潮时，她是领舞者，在青蓝色调的光线下，唯有她的红色皮毛洋溢着温暖；“魅力猫”，年轻时是猫族中最美丽的一个，厌倦了猫族的生活到外面闯荡，尝尽了世态炎凉，再回到猫族时已丑陋无比——她的样子最像人类，长发披肩，身穿黑色晚礼服，脚蹬一双高跟鞋。一曲《回忆》平息了所有猫儿对她的敌意，唤起了对她的深切同情和怜悯。还有“富贵猫”、“保姆猫”、“剧院猫”、“摇滚猫”、“犯罪猫”、“迷人猫”、“英雄猫”、“超人猫”、“魔术猫”等。这群五花八门、各不相同并被拟人化了的猫儿组成了猫的大千世界。在舞会上，它们各显身手，载歌载舞，上演了一出荡气回肠的“人间悲喜剧”，诉说着爱与宽容的主题。
